Atlanta-based chef and Top Chef alum Richard Blais is bringing his hamburger-focused mini-chain, FLIP Burger, to Nashville.
The restaurant will be located in the Hostess Bakery redevelopment at the corner of Charlotte and 42nd avenues. The project, led by Commercial Realty Services, has one additional confirmed tenant, The Beer Pale, a craft beer bar, lunch spot and growler filling station.

FLIP Burger will occupy just over 3,500 square feet, said Will Tyner, who heads the project up for Commercial Realty Services. Interior demo on the project started today, said Tyner, and he hopes to have the shell delivered by July, win order for fall openings. A yoga studio is eyeing a third space, and a fourth remains open, as of now.

Blais, who appeared on Top Chef: Chicago and won Top Chef: Allstars made the announcement in a series of posts on his Facebook page, writing, “Happy to report that my @flipburger team just signed a lease in Nashville!!!” and “So the new @flipburger Nashville will be located at 42nd & Charlotte…”
This will be FLIP Burger’s fifth location and first in Tennessee. The others are located in Atlanta and Birmingham.
