FOUR DECADES OF TRANSFORMATIVE COMMERCIAL DEVELOPMENT.
Since 1999, CRS Development has played a defining role in shaping Middle Tennessee’s commercial spaces. Founded by real estate visionary Kenneth Powers, the company began with retail developments in Texas before returning to Tennessee to pursue a bold mission: to create vibrant, community-centered spaces that fuel local economies and enrich neighborhoods.
From early retail projects in Dyersburg to landmark partnerships with national brands like Kroger, Lowe’s, and Office Depot, CRS laid the groundwork for a portfolio that now spans mixed-use developments, medical hubs, hospitality corridors, and adaptive reuse projects across the region.
The company’s defining project, Providence West in Mt. Juliet, transformed 40+ acres of open fields into a thriving, multi-purpose destination. This development became a model for blending healthcare, retail, hospitality, and recreation in one dynamic space — a reflection of CRS’s commitment to thoughtful, people-first design.
Today, CRS continues to evolve, leading new developments in North Mt. Juliet, Lebanon, Gallatin, and beyond. With projects ranging from retail centers and medical offices to revitalized industrial spaces, the company remains dedicated to shaping Middle Tennessee’s future, one community at a time.

MISSION
At CRS, our mission is to thoughtfully shape Middle Tennessee through long-term, community-rooted commercial development. We don’t just build properties, we invest in the future of the regions we call home. With over 30 years of experience in Wilson County and beyond, we develop spaces that serve growing communities, support local economies, and strengthen the fabric of neighborhoods. Our work is personal, and every project reflects our belief in responsible growth, lasting relationships, and a commitment to quality that stands the test of time.

VALUES
We build with intention. Not just for today, but for the decades ahead. As a family-owned, locally grounded company, CRS values trust, fairness, and mutual respect in every partnership, whether with tenants, subcontractors, or the surrounding community. We take a collaborative, give-and-take approach to development, prioritizing adaptive reuse, smart design, and long-term tenant relationships. Our success is measured not just by square footage, but by the communities we help strengthen, the people we serve, and the integrity with which we do business—because here, our name and reputation are on every corner we build.
